Middlezoy is a beautiful village on the Somerset Levels. The school is in the heart of the village on a small site with the original red brick Victorian building and a new, sizeable mobile classroom. A 'Trim Trail' in the school garden provides additional opportunities for curriculum and play. Recent building projects include an ICT/Library area, new staff room, security entrance and a new enclosed all-weather outdoor space for the youngest children.
Our children mainly live in Middlezoy and transfer to Huish Episcopi Science College, Langport for their secondary education. We currently have 64 pupils on roll organised into three classes ? Owls for 4-7 year olds, Woodpeckers for 7-9 year olds and Kingfishers for 9-11 year olds. In addition to the school based team we have an active, supportive Governing Body, a hard working PTFA, parent helpers and village volunteers.
We actively encourage healthy living and have achieved Healthy School Status. The day starts with 'Wake and Shake'. We run many after school clubs including a Multi Sports club, a SASP club which at present the children are learning Football, a drama club and a homework club.
Middlezoy is an excellent school with some outstanding features. Our aim is to develop the pupils into responsible members of society.
